"Immediately after graduating from university in 1993 I began to take steps toward making one of my dreams a reality, and that same fall I opened the PEI School of Guitar.

The PEI School of Guitar became successful very quickly and in about a year I had to hire another teacher to handle the demands of so many students.  Shortly thereafter I hired another teacher.  I took a lot of pride in knowing that I was able to offer employment to other equally passionate musicians.

In 2006 I took a vacation to British Columbia and began to experience the allure of the mountains of the West.  I returned many times over the next few years and the allure continued to grow stronger.  I decided that, when I felt the time was right, I wanted to move full time to British Columbia.

When I hired Chad Deagle in the fall of 2010, I began to realize that maybe the right time for my move was fast approaching.  Right away he was a perfect fit.  Chad brought great experience, credentials and a wonderfully enthusiastic and professional attitude to the table, and that was reflected in the great progress of his students.

When I first approached him about the possibility of his taking over, he jumped at the opportunity and brought many great ideas to the table thus confirming that I had found the right person.

It is now with great pride and without reservation that I enthusiastically recommend Chad Deagle for your guitar lesson needs.  I can't imagine having left the PEI School of Guitar in better hands and I'm delighted to know that he is continuing the same great tradition of excellence in guitar instruction."

"I've been playing guitar for more than 30 years but decided I wanted to learn more. After my 1st lesson with Chad, I learned more than I thought I could in a 30 minute time frame! Chad was a wonderful instructor who tailored my lesson to my requirements without wasting time on material I already knew, or teaching me things I wasn't yet ready for. I had 6 lessons, and will continue for many lessons to come!"

"When I first started taking lessons with Chad, I was very eager to learn. I told Chad that I wanted to do more than just learn song, after song after song. Since telling him this, Chad has opened my eyes up tomany different things. His amazing guitar and teaching skills have helped me learn more about songs, music theory and essential guitar skills than I could have ever fathomed possible. Chad Deagle is a great instructor as well as an amazing person, and I hope to be taking lessons from him for a long time to come!"

"I have been taking guitar lessons from Chad and the PEI School of Guitar since November of 2012. I go once a week for an hour. Since that time I have basically learned to play, of course not everything, but I now have a much greater base and knowledge of the guitar.

Chad is a great instructor and considering I am 45 yrs old and have never played guitar before I can actually play some songs. Chad has great knowledge of the guitar and music itself. He has great patience and is very accessible whenever I need to email him for advice or direction from my previous lesson.

I highly recommend taking your lessons from Chad and the school! You will not be disappointed!"

"Since high school I dabbled with the guitar. Recently, I've been wanting to purchase a new guitar and told myself that I would only do so if I "forced" myself to take lessons. Imagine my surprise when they turned out to be incredibly fun. It is very exciting to see your own progress each week. Chad is an excellent and accommodating guitar teacher. I look forward to my lesson each week knowing full well Chad will challenge me to become a better guitar player, and I'll have a fun time doing so. Thanks Chad, and everyone at the PEI School of Guitar! Keep up the good work!"

"The PEI School of Guitar offers just what I need to help me develop skills playing the guitar. After trying for years to learn on my own, I took a few lessons and was amazed at how much progress I made in such a short time. I should have started these lessons years ago! Chad has been very patient, encouraging and so knowledgeable! I wouldn't be enjoying playing the guitar as much as I am without these lessons."

"I’ve played guitar off and on since the mid-90s, but in 2008 I decided to give it a more serious try, and began lessons at the PEI School of Guitar. I’m no virtuoso, but because of the help of M.J. Mullin and Chad Deagle I would say I’m now a competent, intermediate level player. Through lessons I’ve gained greater technical ability, erased some bad habits, learned a lot of songs (even took a stab at writing my own) and developed a much greater understanding of music theory. And I’ve had a lot of fun and quite a few laughs at every lesson!

With the state of the Internet these days there are so many resources for aspiring guitar players, but none of them can replace one-on-one lessons with an instructor who can teach you proper technique and give you feedback on your playing. I’ve found both M.J. and Chad to be very versatile and able to teach songs in any style. They also point out what elements of theory are being used in each song so that you can then apply them in learning other examples of that style, be it country, rock, metal, blues, classical, or whatever turns your crank.

To be clear, there is no substitute for practice; you’ll only get out of guitar what you put into it. But again, good instructors like those at PEI School of Guitar will teach you how to use your practice time effectively so that you build on your individual strengths and correct your weaknesses.

I’d recommend lessons at the PEI School of Guitar to anyone."

"My son is 12 years old and has been attending the PEI School of Guitar with Chad Deagle for 2 years now. Chad's love of music and guitar are evident in his approach to teaching.

My son's first lesson started with Chad asking him what kind of music he liked and if there was anything in particular he wanted to learn. Immediately my son replied with AC/DC Back in Black to which Chad echoed "I love that song". Chad taught him the basic chords to that song, and before we knew it my son could play something that we both recognized and enjoyed.

This approach to learning has kept my son engaged and loving his Friday lessons. Chad goes above and beyond a guitar lesson. He has taken the time to get to know my son, and shows a sincere interest in what he's up to. My son is naturally an introvert, but the moment he enters the doors of the PEI School of Guitar the conversation flows freely as that is the kind of easy going and endearing person Chad is.

I am also a teacher and many of my students attend lessons with Chad and their opinion is much like mine. They all respect and appreciate his extensive knowledge, his teaching style and how his love of his job translates to an enjoyable experience for them. I highly recommend Chad Deagle and the PEI School of Guitar to anyone wanting to learn how to play the guitar, and who is looking for an enjoyable and educational experience. "

"I've always wanted to learn how to play guitar and last year I finally got my first guitar. I found Chad's site online and contacted him to begin lessons. I went in to my first lesson knowing nothing about guitar and with Chad's teachings I was able to learn more than I thought was possible to learn in such a short amount of time. Chad is a talented knowledgeable instructor and is very encouraging during lessons. He also takes the time to know you, which in turn lends itself to a great learning environment."

"I have been taking lessons with Chad for about three years, and have found that it has been a very valuable experience. He has a very calm approach that makes it very fun to play guitar. My lessons have also helped me on my other musical endeavours, and have made me a better all-around musician. I would recommend Chad to anyone looking to take guitar lessons."

- Calum Brydon

"I recently took several months of lessons at the PEI School of Guitar, and I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in learning guitar. My instructor was knowledgeable, patient, and very welcoming. Lessons catered to my comfort level as well as to my interests in music - I got to learn how to play songs that I had loved for years! I always left my lessons feeling excited to practice and to return the following week for more."
